Substance Abuse

Get Your Life Back!

Addiction is a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual’s life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences. Prevention efforts and treatment approaches for addiction are generally as successful as those for other chronic diseases.”

Community Health Service Inc. (CHSI) is offering personalized substance use disorder treatment with medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol in a judgement free, outpatient setting. The program is often referred to as MAT (Medication-assisted treatment). Medication-assisted treatment combines FDA-approved medication, such as buprenorphine and naltrexone, with behavioral services. There is no maximum recommended duration of treatment, and for some patients, treatment may continue indefinitely. MAT is the only treatment option shown by research to be effective for opioid use disorder (OUD).

You should expect to be treated with empathy, respect, patience and understanding. We strive to help every patient who comes to us for treatment, regardless of insurance status. We accept most forms of insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. Other options include financial assistance and payment plans. MAT services are available at the Grafton, ND and Moorhead, MN sites. If you would like more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (Grafton 701-352-4048, Moorhead 218-236-6502).

Medication-assisted treatment combined with psychosocial therapies and community-based recovery supports is the gold standard for treating opioid addiction.”
