Physical abuse is non-discriminatory and affects individuals regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, age, and socio-economic backgrounds. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men aged 18 and older in the U.S. have been victims of severe physical violence in their lifetime (Faubion, 2020).
